This Yankees Bullpen Catcher Concerns Me
I went down to Baltimore to film some Stadium Eats on the road with RDT yesterday and decided to watch Chapman warm up right above the bullpen in the 9th. Let me tell you that watching a guy throw 100+MPH that close is unreal, but what I didn’t expect is to see these limp wristed throws back to Chapman while he warmed up.
I think every man’s dream job is to be a bullpen catcher because you get a uniform, and a nice salary with none of the pressure to contribute to a game, but how can you go out there and throw like this in front of people? According to my research this is Ramon Rodriguez and he spent 8 years during the 90’s in the Pirates system. Based on this throwing motion it’s no surprise he didn’t make it to the show, even on those terrible Pittsburgh teams.
Earlier this week we jumped on Neymar because he looked an old man trying to take batting practice.
In my opinion this is much worse because this is Rodriguez’s main sport, but even more so because who the hell throws like that? Unless there is something going on that I’m missing here, this is a terrible look. People were heckling the hell out of this guy and I’ve got to assume that that’s the case everyday in every city and there’s only one way we can fix this. Rodriquez needs to start memorizing the interests of Playboy Playmates so he can make the throws like a man.
PS: Whoever makes the signs in Baltimore is as bad at spelling as I am.
